My Experience: Greenthumb CBO trained on fish value addition at KMFRI, Sagana

There has been an increase in inland fish production in the country. Majority of these fish are marketed in raw form. The lack of cold storage facilities and minimal to no value addition has made the fish prices to remain low. Greenthumb CBO has however, found a business opportunity in fish processing as a way of adding value as well as diversifying the range of fish products in the Nakuru market. Nakuru livinglab organized and facilitated, a two-day training at Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute (KMFRI), Sagana, to sharpen their skills on value addition. The training entailed theory and practical lessons.
