REFOOTURE evidence platform

Introduction

Insect rearing for animal feed and to produce organic fertiliser is quite new and innovative. RESSECT aims to upscale our business to improve the circularity of the East African/Kenyan food system.

The context

What do you think are key aspects to increase market readiness of the concept and to increase inclusivity - especially for youth and women in the industry ?

  1. What a wonderful initiative and interesting movies! It would be good to know the effects of the organic fertiliser on soil quality and agricultural production!

  2. During the launch dialogue today, it was suggested to find longterm investors to invest in scaling up these innovations, and also to include education and youth as key aspect of the initiative.

  3. There are several organisations using household waste for making organic fertiliser. Rather than competing with them, would it be possible to look for a partnership model for household waste collection? Possibly providing new jobs (for women and youth?)
